Hallo hallo! Welcome to Liobôn

I’m Jared, and I'd like to share a little story about Liobôn & myself. My love for baking began when I was younger, as I learned to bake from my lovely mum and grandma. I spent a lot of quality time with them in the kitchen.
I chose to create my own plant-based dishes as I can't eat dairy products and there aren't many plant-based dessert options. One of my favourite recipes is the Sachertorte, a chocolate cake made with almonds. Something about it was just too good! I'd make one anytime I got the chance.
Enjoying Lebkuchen is one of my family's Christmas traditions. One year during the pandemic, we failed to find any, so I decided to make my own. Which started my love of German baking.
Liobôn started in 2023 as a hobby to showcase some of my cakes. It wasn’t until the Spring Festival of 2024 that I decided to create some treats to share with friends. I shared my creations online, and to my surprise, I received a few orders, then a few more. My small sweets became popular, and I spent the next few weeks in the kitchen making hundreds of peach and dragon desserts.
I am extremely grateful for all of the support I have received. I now have the confidence to pursue my passion for all things sweet!
Although I started Liobôn as a hobby, I wanted to give it a proper name! & I wanted it to reference my beloved cat Lyra
I knew I wanted a German name. Iinitially thought Liebe (love) but it felt too simplistic, so I browsed through old German thesaurus online and discovered an older spelling of the word. "Liobôn - to love" To me, it was ideal because it begins with L and has a nice meaning, so that was it!
As of recently I decided to honour my initial inspiration my beloved cat Lyra so I made her my Logo
